WRITING ASSISTANCE

Our writing consultants will be happy to assist your students with various writing assignments and projects.   Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Our writing staff is available to assist students with writing projects that range from short response pieces and essays to academic research papers.
  • Some faculty have found it useful to drop off copies of their writing assignments with samples of the type of finished project that they intend students to complete so that consultants may have a clear and explicit understanding of the requirements of your particular assignment.
  • I can arrange specific writing workshops for small groups of your students who may have particular weaknesses in their writing abilities.
  • For example, my staff can present workshops on how to develop an argument, how to craft a response paper, and/or how to write a comparative essay,
  • You name the project; we can create a workshop to support your students.
  • We can also work with students on grammatical errors and provide mini-lessons for them on various aspects of punctuation and sentence construction.
  • In addition, we offer discipline specific writing sessions intended to provide more focused intervention and support for majors and advanced students who wish to refine and enhance their academic writing skills.
  • My staff works extensively with documentation and citation issues and we carefully review these requirements with each student
